Best Microfiber Kitchen-Cloth for Glass-Top Stoves

I bought my house from a nice elderly lady. Because of her age, she was selling the house and moving in with family.

She no longer needed her kitchen appliances, so she left me her old harvest-gold electric stove.

That was a great stove and it was built like a tank. I could have used it the rest of my life.

Amanda eventually convinced me to buy a new glass-top stove. She told me they were easier to clean.

She was correct that glass-top stoves are easier to clean, but what she didn’t tell me is that the thing gets greasy and dirty worse than any object in the house. I literally have to clean it every day, sometimes multiple times a day……

I have learned that a good microfiber cleaning cloth works better than paper towels for cleaning my glass-top stove, countertops, sink, microwave, and other kitchen appliances.

2 Terrible Problems with Paper Towels

For years I used paper towels to clean my glass-top stove because I just didn’t know any better.

Now I know paper towels have two huge problems:

• They are expensive
• They don’t clean very well.

I know that most of you are aware of how expensive paper towels are, but you may not know how poorly they clean until you try a microfiber kitchen-cleaning cloth.

Why Use a Microfiber Kitchen Cleaning Cloth?

I have learned of three benefits of using a microfiber kitchen cleaning cloth:

1. Microfiber cloths soak up more liquid than paper towels.
2. The weave of the microfiber cloth “scrubs” and picks up grease and grime, whereas a paper towel tends to just smear grease and grime across the surface.
3. In the long run, microfiber cloths are cheaper to use than paper towels.

Sollievo Microfiber Cloth vs. Standard Microfiber Cloth

With my own money, I purchased a Sollievo Cloth Variety Set from Amazon.

I compared the Sollievo kitchen cloth to one of my standard, high-quality microfiber cloths. Here are my observations:

Size

The Sollievo kitchen cloth measures approximately 15 x 15 inches. It is almost 50% larger than my standard microfiber cloth.

Microfiber Weave

The Sollievo kitchen cloth has a special warp weave. They designed this weave to work well on:

• stainless steel
• stovetops / ranges
• glass stovetops
• faucets & fixtures
• kitchen countertops
• appliances
• dishes

The warp weave produces a streak-free shine. It is also great for dusting your range hood, microwave, and other appliances in the kitchen.

Antibacterial Properties

The Sollievo fabric is woven with IonTek. This is an antibacterial silver agent that prevents bacteria, mold, and mildew.

This allows me to clean my glass-top stove multiple times before I need to wash and dry the cloth. Fewer washings means lower water bills.

A standard microfiber cloth will not have any anti-bacterial treatment and is more likely to harbor bacteria. This is not good for a cloth that will be used on food surfaces.

Durability & Cost

The Sollievo kitchen cloth uses commercial-grade microfiber that will hold up for at least 300 washes.

I expect to get about 5 years out of my Sollievo cloths. So even though they cost a little more, they also last longer, so I figure the cost is about even with my standard microfiber cloths.

The extra cleaning performance is worth the extra cost to me.

Cleaning Performance

I performed the following test to see if I could tell the difference between the premium Sollievo kitchen cloth and a high-quality standard microfiber cloth.

Step 1

I smeared my glass-top stove with butter.

Step 2

I cleaned one side of the stovetop with the Sollievo kitchen cloth and the other side of the stovetop with the standard microfiber cloth. The cloths were completely dry, and I used no cleaners.

Test Results

I was able to get a good shine using only the dry Sollievo cloth.

I couldn’t quite get that last bit of haze off the glass stovetop with the standard microfiber cloth.

Conclusion

The butter-on-stove test results won me over. The Sollievo cloths are considerably higher-quality and better-performing than my standard microfiber cloths. I will be using Sollievo microfiber cleaning cloths in my home.
